Materials used for this book were Arches 140# H.P., Arches Cover Black, Sumi ink, walnut ink, colored pencils, and gold gouache.  The initial design was created by ink applied in spontaneous marks onto the Arches 140# paper and run though running water ("sink art"), and manipulated to create unpredicted marks.  Once dried, the marks can become what the artist sees, and the intention of the marks can be enhanced with colored pencils to create depth and form. 

In the Tulsa hills, tornadoes form unexpectedly in the right weather conditions.  Displaying green and blue skies, these powerful formations invite us to watch.  However, while these spontaneous creations of nature are beautiful in their own way as they dance across the sky, they can be very unpredictable and devastating, at the same time.  Dimensions are 10" x 5" closed, with slipband provided.
